It’s a big milestone day for us here at Twitpic and we want to say thank you to all of our users…all 10 million of you (not to mention the 40 million different people who visit the site every month)!
I launched Twitpic 2 years ago over a weekend as a pet project and I had no idea it would turn into what it has today – Twitpic would not be what it is without all of you, our faithful users, and you truly do mean a lot to us…*queue group hug*
To show our thanks we are also releasing a new feature today called Face Tagging. With Face Tagging you can tag people in your photos and also let them know when they’ve been tagged. If you are familiar with Facebook’s photo tagging then this should be very familiar to you.

Are you looking to expand the API to handle this as well? Eg API calls to tag people in photos?

Is there any way to opt out of this feature, so that:
1) Nobody will be able to facetag my uploaded pics? (That’s assuming a user can facetag other users’ pics -not sure about that)
2) Other users won’t be able to “facetag” their pics with my Twitter/Twitpic username?

We Love TwitPic! Congrats on 10 Million! when will TwitPic have the Feature of Taging ppls Twitter accounts when putting user name with @ for example i put @mashable on twitpic it should be able to click on it & login his Twitpic timeline ?

If you’re brainstorming for more new features, I’ve got a super simple one. It’d be handy if I could add tags when posting by email, either as hashtags or in the body of the email.
This is a relly cool feature that can grow up the TwitPic Community.
